20210103 cycling

This was a good week for riding. The mornings were still cold so I rode after work. But traffic was a bit lighter because school was out. 

I like my new handlebar bag but need to figure out where to mount my lights. The bag blocks the front one and my fat thigh rubs against the rear one mounted on my seat tube. 

I got new shorts from Machine for Freedom. Expensive and very compressive but the most comfortable ones for my bits.

Two loops. As ai was turning from MPB to SR56 MUP, two cars were turning left from SR56 to MPB. I stopped for them only to be shocked that they both drove on the MUP. WTF? The first car turned around on the grass, the second stopped and blocked the MUP. I do not know what they were doing but rode around the second vehicle and on my way.

Wore my new Machines for Freedom bike shorts. I hate the price, I hate the effort it take to get them on, I don't care for the digging into my belly nor do I like slipping on my saddle. But I absolutely love the way the ride feels. My, umm... lady bits don't even think they are on a bike!
(Now I want a second pair but should I got for the next size up? I did the measurements and they said it you are between sizes to go down. )

I rode down BBD to Flatwoods. One my first loop, I startled a (rattle?) snake on the side of the path. I though it was a branch and rode rather close to it. It wasn't a harmless black snake but mottled brown. He jumped backed and I nearly jumped out of my skin. I steered clear on my second lap but didn't see him.
