20201227 cycling

This wasn’t a very good week for riding. It got very cold on Christmas Day and it was all I could do just to get any ride in. 

I got a full week of riding with my flat bar and it is so much better than drop bars. It doesn’t seem to affect my speed. (Not that I go that fast anyway.)

I got my handlebar bag and installed it. But I haven’t any long rides to really test out its usefulness.

Rode down BBD to Flatwoods. Lost a mile when I didn't hit resume at Cross Creek. 
One loop through Flatwoods. Not too many people. They close early at 3 pm. 
The ride home was awesome with the tailwind. I looked and saw ai was going 20 mph without much effort.

I bundled up with layers so I wasn't too cold. But I didn't feel like going more than a short loop. I saw Ryan going out on my way back. He had on shorts with sandals (though he refuses to call them as such). He said it was fine but then said his feet were cold and so were his ears. He was only out for about 15 minutes.

I bundled up again and I am glad. I went longer but was ready to be done at mile 5. I could feel my arms getting sweaty and the wind made them cold.

Still windy but warmer. I rode out to SR56. The barriers were down again because of the wind. I really de along the path expecting to be scape to the bike lane when the path disappeared. But I saw a cyclist up ahead who appeared to be rinsing where the pasted wasn't there last week. I followed her under she wiped out at one spot where there was no pavement and the ground was soft. We walked and chatted some until we got to Morris Bridge and she took off. She rode faster than me. 
The ride back was good with the tailwind. I didn't try to trail again but rode in the bike lane from Morris Bridge to MPB.
