This was my second attempt today. I went out before 6 but only made it .67 miles when I heard a hiss. Not a snake but I flat tire. Damn. Since this was the second flat in two weeks, I figure it was time for a new tire. I was so close to home, I figured I would walk home and change the tube and put on a new tire. Except I couldn't get the dang thing on! The bead was so thick and my hands are not strong enough. I even looked on YouTube for any tricks I was missing. 

Oliver's, my local shop is closed on Sundays. I went down to REI and asked if they could help. Nathalia had some trouble but managed to get it on and they didn't charge me! (They asked if I was a member, which I am.) Oliver's would have charged me $10. It was worth the drive. Also I got to try Shake Shack. (It was OK). 

It was late in the day so hot and humid and windy. I wore my street clothes but did wear my gloves and helmet.

I rode back up BBD to Amberly. I took that to Tampa Palms then circled back through Compton. I wanted to add a couple more miles to get over 30 for the day. 
The ride up BBD to home was quick. I made the lights!

I crossed US301 and continued to Daugherty. It is rough west of US301.

I rode back US301 to 6th St. (I realized later I should have taken 1st St and cut off the triangle.) I tired at SR54 and rode that most of the way home. West of Morris Bridge isn't great with the construction. 
I turned south into Fox Ridge and rode through to Chancey and into Meadow Pointe.

Rode to SR56 to US301. I rode north on US301 to Zephyrhills. I stopped at Starbucks for some iced tea. I had brought my own snack. I forgot my lock. 
Right before Chancey, I got a flat tire. There is a gas station there so I pulled in and changed my tire. Changing it went quickly but pumping it up was another matter. I got a new pump and never tried it out. It seemed pretty obvious but I couldn't get much air in the tire. I even thought about the air pump at the gas station but I had no money. It was broken anyway. I finally checked the web for instructions and found a video on YouTube. Yep, I was doing it wrong. I did get air in as much as I could and wobbled home. It wasn't that full but enough. Though ai took the shortcut home through The Ridge.

Another average week of cycling. I woke up to a flat tire on Tuesday. There were a few thinner areas and was going to just change the tube but decided to check the mileage of the tires . It had 6,000 miles so it was time for a new tire. I am glad I had one ready.
