I had a good week even though I didn’t make 100 miles. My weekdays start early so I only get in 9 miles. I can ride long on Saturday which is nice. But I am expected to go to church on Sundays so I ride in the dark to avoid the heat. Still, I feel good. I like Klimat.app, when it works. It doesn’t always sync.

75° humidity 93% wind 4-6 NE
I knew the wind was going to get stronger but I enjoyed riding in Flatwoods so much last week that I went back today. It was windy at times but I kept pushing myself to ride a little harder. The headwind on the way home sucked but it was worth it.

I ran out of SkratchLabs Hydration Mix so I used some of the single use packs I had to try out. I had Untapped MapleAid in Ginger and Lemon ea. I had the ginger first. It was OK. The Ginger was noticeable when it hit the back of my throat. I did not like the Lemon Tea at all. The only good thing about them was the lack of sour taste in my mouth at the end of the ride.
Trout Creek still flows over the trail some but I rode through it. I was going fast so I lifted my feet so I wouldn't have dripping socks.
I rode the loop three times. Until last week, I had never ridden it more than once during each trip. I like watching the fast bikes go past. Bikes that cost $5000 or more and the riders couldn't spend another $150 to get a proper fit.

I saw a black snake crossing the trail. I scared it as I rode past. Ick.
I had a loop in my head. It is from a Josh Ritter song, Girl in the War, "They sparkle, bubble over and, in the morning, all you got is rain" It just kept looping over and over. Sigh.

My goal was to go 20 miles just to get to 100 miles for the week. At mile 15, I realized 3 miles doesn't matter and I rode home after 2 laps.
