Bother. Riding down Morris Bridge road and there is an accident at Flatwoods. No one can cross because there is a fatality. Dammit. I want to go to the Starbucks on Morris Bridge but will have to go all the way back to Cross Creek. I don't know if I have enough battery. I rode back and thru Cory Lake Isles to Cross Creek thru Hunters Green to Bruce B Downs.
And I had to go south to go around the rivers and back up Fletcher to Starbucks.
They were quick on my hot items but I had to ask for iced tea. With the extra miles, I drank all that I had on my bike.
The croissant and vanilla crème were good.

Going to try Morris Bridge again.
I passed the tow trucks carrying the crashed vehicles and the sheriff's deputy who made me turn back. (BTW, he was really tall and so damn handsome.) it took the over two hours to clean the site.
The wind was strong so I rode in Auto most of the way home.
I started to bonk at about 35 miles. And my bum hurt. Thank goodness for the motor no would not have made it otherwise.
I ran out of tea so I began sucking on ice cubes.

Decided to make it short. Ha!
Though I am staying close to home. Just doing two large loops and stopping during the second.
I try to ride in Eco mode but it is just too slow for me. I boosted up to Auto when I hit the headwind.
Starbucks has a small patio and they made it even smaller but putting up wrought iron fencing. I locked my bike up to the table. It wouldn't take much to get it but the motor is also locked to my iPhone.
Changed it up with a vanilla crème with peppermint and chocolate cookie topping.
I also got a chocolate croissant.
the cookies crumbs seemed like a good idea until they became soggy in the whipped cream

Rode south on BBD. I only had to stop twice.
I rode easily in Tour and still have 50 miles of range.
I rode to Starbucks on 30th
It is busy with lots of drive through traffic. There is a covered patio with only one couple.
Vanilla Crème and buttered croissant.
Kind of noisy with the traffic.
Croissant was a nice change. Too bad it was no longer by the time I got my drink.
The ride back was fine. More traffic, more wind, more red lights. None of it was a problem. It is easy to start again from a stop with the pedal assist.

Late start because Andy & I went out for pizza.
Rode up to SR56 then east to Morris Bridge.
There is no bike lane, no shoulder for about 3 miles. I spend up to Auto to get through this stretch a bit faster.
The bike lane started but it was in sad shape. It was covered over in parts by lawn and dirt.
It got better south of Cross Creek.
I rode through Flatwoods. There is new signage. They eliminated the second set of markers that counted the miles to BBD.
I stopped at a water station and filled up my bottle.
BBD to Starbucks at Hunters Green.
Vanilla Crème and chocolate croissant.
The croissant was good but the drink was only so-so. The milk was too hot and they forgot the topping that I paid extra for.
The ride home was fine except for hitting the red lights.

I pumped up my rear tire. What a pain in the ass to get to it. There is very little clearance.

Rode up WRB to SR-54. I had meant to keep to Tour mode but it was windy.
I rode SR-54 to Starbucks.
The wind wasn't bad in Auto mode.
I got a tall vanilla crème with toffee nut syrup and coconut milk. They were out of marshmallow bars so I got pumpkin loaf. Pumpkin loaf has always been my favorite but trying to cut back on calories. I know it should matter when riding 20+ miles.
This Starbucks was built in conjunction with Chase bank. During banking hours, the two were open to each other. When the bank was closed, there was a metal grate closing it off to Starbucks.
Chase moved and TD bank moved in. Now the two are separated with a solid wall and there is no indoor seating for Starbucks. I wonder how long Starbucks will remain here.
The pumpkin loaf was SO good.
I went back SR54. I had to cross two lines at Collier. I went to stop after the first light and missed the curb fell. One driver stopped and I said I was OK. Another driver who was stopped at the light asked if I was OK. Just embarrassed.
After that, the ride was uneventful.
The climb up the overpass was so much easier with the e-bike. I didn't need to increase the motor but I could feel myself working harder. The ride down is always fun. I hadn't had this bike over 19 mph so I was interested was would happen when it went over 20 mph. I just coasted until I got to a flat area and pedaled. No motor because I was over 20 mph. I let myself coast instead of working too hard. Max speed was 23.3 mph

I set it to auto mode and didn't care.
Rode CLR to Cypress Creek Rd.
I stopped on the overpass to take photos of the sculptures along I75. Are they supposed to represent palms? The largest one has bougainvillea planted in it.
I felt shaky up there. The barricade is not very tall.
I turned north at Cypress Creek. The road is narrow without a paved shoulder. Then I went east at SR-54. SR-54 turns into SR56. I went around the back to enter the outlet mall parking to Starbucks.
Vanilla Crème Steamer; 1 pump vanilla, 2 pumps peppermint. None of the topping seemed to go with peppermint. Chocolate sprinkles nor curls were available in the app. Marshmallow bar but I don't know of I want to east.
The ride back was OK. It is always a bit harry riding on SR56 crossing I75. It is a divergent diamond which means crossing back and forth and waiting for long lights.
Once I got past BBD, I rode on the MUP to Hueland Pond then back on the road to Mansfield to CLR to home.

Decided to get the longest done first.
Rode up to SR54 to Eiland.
I used the Auto mode and the trip went by quickly.
I was a little concerned that I would run out of battery on the way back. But I don't intend on riding in that faster mode.

Just checked the weather and it says wind from the west. Another headwind? Dammit.
I am hoping I can keep the same trip by not turning off the bike.
The ride back was windy too.
Google maps suggested a bypass to avoid the narrow part of US301. It doesn't have a bike lane not a shoulder.
The road was fine until I had to turn. The road was unpaved. But my e-bike handled it well. Then I couldn't find the next road. Turns out it is closed because they are building it! I went under the construction tape and was riding along until I ran into more tape and a 12" step to the paved portion. I managed to get my heavy bike on the concrete curb and rode on.
I made it home with 4 miles left on my battery.

I took a detour through Avalon Park.

I went west on SR56 along the MUP. Then back on my usual route on MPB.
I need to build up my tolerance for longer rides. I never would have made it without the pedal assist.

Felt like riding a little long. I had thought to out again in the afternoon and run errands, but there are storms predicted.
Rode along SR56 to Morris Bridge. I went a little father hoping for a better shot of the sunrise. It was OK.
Lots of bugs, had to keep my mouth shut.
My bum started aching a bit towards the end. I need to start riding farther if I want to ride my age in January.
