This was a better week for riding. I still got up at 4 even though I no longer had to commute to work. I used the extra time to get in two loops then walk a mile. (I didn’t do two on Wednesday because I had to cook sausage for Andy.) I had to work on Saturday so it was very warm and windy by the time I got out there. My bum is slowly getting used to the new saddle.

This week was better. I had four good days before the weather turned cold. I took my bike in for a tune-up on Thursday and got it back Friday. There was a time when I would have ridden even 30 minutes so I would miss a day. I am letting go of that perfect record as long as I complete all my rings. These days I can walk fast enough for it to count.

Not a good week. I got another cold which turned into bronchitis. At least I think it is that since I did not go to the doctor only to have them tell me what it is and send me home. The last time I had bronchitis was in 1996 and was hey gave me antibiotics which probably didn’t help because it took weeks to get over it. Now they don’t prescribe antibiotics unless you have other risk factors. Though I hate to stop my current streak of 519 days, I know I cannot ride hard or long. I rode for 30 minutes on Saturday at a normal pace and then coughed for over an hour when I got home. I will take it easy in February and hope this clears up.
